Are you ready to learn more about your city?

The mission of Midland 101 is to familiarize citizens with the structure, function, and purpose of Midland City government, and to equip and encourage them to assume a leadership role in the community.

Over the course of seven sessions, participants gain an in-depth look at local government operations. Classes cover the ins and outs of operating the City's air and space port, developing and revitalizing downtown, maintaining the City's water supply, public safety, and more.

Midland 101 is ideal for anyone who would like to take a leadership role in the community and is excellent preparation for serving on a City of Midland board or commission. The program is an engaging way to meet people who are passionate about what they do and to network with other Midland101 participants who share similar interests and diverse backgrounds.

Class size is limited, and applicants are encouraged to apply promptly. Applications will be accepted until September 16, 2022.

To be eligible, participants must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
